The Plough Hotel and Restaurant is an ideal location for small to medium weddings, situated in the Cotswold village of Clanfield with an ideal photographic backdrop. The Plough is a 16th Century Manor House set in its own grounds with 12 en-suite bedrooms. Clanfield Church (partly Norman) is within walking distance of The Plough. We can cater for up to 100 people and evening receptions up to 140.

The internal capacity of The Plough is 70 after this number the grounds lend themselves to a marquee.

The Plough can be used for many different styles of wedding but the main advantage is that the wedding can have the sole use of the property and not just part, as in many hotels giving you that special feeling of exclusivity.

The format of a wedding reception can take many different forms from a simple wedding breakfast on a Saturday afternoon, followed by an evening reception if required to the full wedding weekend which includes accommodation on Friday night with a private dinner (for the bride and grooms family) followed by the Saturday wedding breakfast with an evening reception (maybe with extra guests) and finishing off with a Sunday morning brunch for all resident guests. Weather permitting, then you and your guests can have use of the terrace with the backdrop of the 16th Century building (ideal for photographs).

Entertainment can be arranged to suit your style and budget.

We very much specialise in tailoring the wedding for your needs and we are not restrained by rigid wedding packages, ie, gold, silver and bronze.

As you know it is very hard to give a firm quotation for your wedding until we meet with you to discuss your needs and where possible we will work closely to your budget. It is very helpful for you to advise us of your budget at an informal meeting.

To help you decide on your budget we have detailed below a few of the approximate costs at the present time:

Wedding Breakfast

Three course Wedding Breakfast, (starter, main and pudding), to be chosen from our menus. We would also serve half a bottle of wine per person, to be chosen from a selection of five white wines and five red wines.
Followed by tea and coffee.

The cost will from £55.00 per person.

Champagne is £35.00 per bottle. Arrival drinks from £4.00 each

Evening Buffets

Start from £17.50 per person (minimum 70 people – maximum 140 people). Plus venue hire of £1,000 for Friday/Saturday night.

Accommodation

We can offer very competitive accommodation rates for sole use of The Plough.

Hire of Marquee (incl. Chairs, tables, flooring, lights, linning) £2500.00 - Based on 80 people

Hire of dance floor in marquee £250.00 - £400.00 (depending on size)

On all wedding bookings a non-refundable deposit of £500.00 is required.
